Susan Bennett - Pastor

Susan Bennett

Susan began serving as pastor at Stockbridge Presbyterian in January of 2009.  She has nearly 20 years experience as an ordained PC/USA pastor, having served two other churches in the Greater Atlanta area, and several years as a hospital, nursing home, and hospice chaplain. She loves the people of Stockbridge Pres and their passion for local outreach and “hands-on” ministry both in Henry County and within the congregation itself.

She’s a reformed Yankee, born in Pittsburgh, PA, but says she “got down South as soon as she could.”

Susan lives in Stockbridge with her husband, Michael, and their 3 rescue dogs, Catie, Dixie, and Elsa.

Linda Hodges - Office Manager

Linda Hodges

Born and raised in Florida, Linda met her husband while attending Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida. They have lived in Schwaebisch Hall, Germany and Savannah, Georgia before settling in Henry County.

Hobbies include reading, gardening, cooking, and traveling, especially to historic sites. Linda is the mother of two wonderful children and grandmother of three beautiful grandchildren, Makenzie, Ella Rae and Harrison.

Linda has over 25 years experience in the business/accounting field, in diverse fields which include insurance, trucking and most recently 15 years with a non profit association.

Ward Gailey - Music Director

Ward Gailey

Ward Gailey recently retired as the the Director of Music and assistant professor for Atlanta Metropolitan State College after 13 years. He is a seasoned tenor with credits in opera, recital, and oratorio. He conducted the college choir and taught voice, theory, and music appreciation. Ward has taught choral music at all levels, from elementary music through college for 33 years. Wherever he has gone, Ward has promoted vocal and choral music excellence.

Gailey has a Bachelor of Music degree in voice from the University of South Carolina and a Masters of Music degree in voice from the University of Illinois. He received training in music education at Columbus State University and Florida State University. Ward has served in numerous part-time church music positions, including Bethel United Methodist Church, Stockbridge, and Epiphany Lutheran Church, Conyers. He has sung professionally at both reform Temple synagogues in Columbus and Atlanta for some twenty years. He is also a published composer of choral music and continues to write for his choirs. He has been active with Atlanta’s Capitol City Opera since 1990. He is a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association.

Ward and his wife Lin, a retired flautist and special educator, have been married for nearly 39 years. They live in Conyers, GA. They have a married son of 36 years, Jonathan, also a talented singer and classic rock/blues artist.

Dorothy Clark - Organist

Dorothy Clark

Dorothy is a native of Decatur and a graduate of Columbia High School. She received Bachelor of Science degrees in physical education and music education from North Georgia College and a Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Mississippi. She has held the positions of organist of the Dahlonega Presbyterian Church; organist and handbell choir director of the Blackfeet United Methodist Church in Browning, Montana; staff accompanist in the Browning Public School System; music director-organist at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Atlanta; and music director-organist at University Heights United Methodist Church in Decatur. She also served for four years as the accompanist of the Decatur Civic Chorus under the direction of Mary Anne Sharp, and for six years as the accompanist of the Mercer Atlanta Community Singers and the Michael O’Neal Singers under the direction of Dr. Michael M. O’Neal. Dorothy lives in Decatur with her cat Callie.

Glory Cumbow - Youth Director

Glory Cumbow

Glory is from Bristol, TN where she received her Bachelor’s degree from King College in Biblical Studies and Theatre with a minor in Youth Ministry. She has experience working with youth in church settings and in non-profit organizations. She is a student at Columbia Theological Seminary where she is pursuing a Master’s of Divinity and a Master’s of Arts in Practical Theology. Currently, she and her husband reside in Decatur, GA. Her husband is a choir director, and they hope to work in ministry together.

Tom Francis - Custodian Emeritus

Tom Francis

Tom, born in West Virginia, spent most of his childhood and school days in Pennsylvania. As a young man, he was drafted by the Army and sent to Korea for 18 months where he worked as a Turret Artillery Repairman on the tanks. After his discharge, he was hired by Delta Airlines in 1957, retiring after 36 years of service. In 1969, Delta transferred Tom and his wife, Carolyn, along with their three daughters to Georgia. They joined Stockbridge Presbyterian Church shortly after moving here and have remained faithful members. In 1995, the church hired Tom as their Custodian after his retirement from Delta. He and Carolyn have 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His hobbies include attending air shows, old car shows and gardening.
